OUR STORY

Hi, I'm Vanessa, owner and creator of Oak + Rose Tea Room.

The "Oak" in our name is short for Oakley and the "Rose" is short for Melrose. 

These are the names of the streets in Chicago my grandparents lived on as I was growing up where both of my grandmothers always graciously and beautifully hosted loved ones. 

Cherishing my relationships with family and friends has always been a priority and I love get togethers that join great people, food, drinks, and ambiance.  In 2020, I started Vie Sucre, specializing in making French macarons and other pastries. These sweet treats got my imagination running on how delightful it would be to have a space to enjoy them with tea and coffee and maybe a mimosa- in a beautiful space. A few years later, I am at the beginning of realizing this idea and am so thankful and excited to have found such great partners and support in our community to make this happen.
